The ultimate goal of CitBIO is to use advanced peptide engineering, nanotechnological methods, and mechanistic insight in a feedback-loop to develop strategies for efficient drug delivery across the intestinal wall. In the pursuit of this goal, we have divided our research into six Work Packages:
- WP1: Peptide synthesis
- WP2: Physicochemical screening
- WP3: Fluidic models
- WP4: Intestinal in vitro and ex vivo barrier models
- WP5: Advanced optical microscopy
- WP6: Theory, data analysis, and modeling
In practice, however, the research conducted in the center covers a broad range of scientific fields and is highly interdisciplinary causing the WPs to overlap substantially.
